ECO POWER ONE, a pioneering battery storage project by ECO STOR GmbH in Bollingstedt, Schleswig-Holstein, marks a significant advancement for the energy transition. With a power capacity of 103.5 MW and an energy capacity of 238.5 MWh, the battery system will make a substantial contribution to grid stability and energy security starting in January 2025.
Versorgungsbetriebe Bordesholm

Innovative battery power plant in Bordesholm

Asset Class
Battery storage (BESS)
Plant Type
Stand-alone / grid-scale / front of the meter
Energy Capacity
15 MW
Power Capacity
15 MWh
The battery power plant of Versorgungsbetriebe Bordesholm (VBB) has been in operation since 13.05.2019 and serves as a prime example of a sustainable and decentralized energy supply throughout Germany. With an output of 15 MW and a capacity of 15 MWh, the power plant is in normal operation in the balancing energy markets and on the spot and intraday markets. In the event of a failure of the upstream transmission grid, the battery power plant for Bordesholm enables a self-sufficient, off-grid and black-start capable supply from 100% renewable energies from PV, biogas plants and CHP units.
Alzchem Trostberg GmbH

Germany's first marketing in FSV SEAL

Asset Class
Industrial plant
Plant Type
Carbide oven
Energy Capacity
50 MW
Power Capacity

With the launch of the new SEAL system service product on 22 May 2024, industrial flexibility will be used to stabilize the grid. SEAL replaces the Switch-off Loads Ordinance (AbLaV), which expired in June 2022, and enables electrical consumers to be switched off quickly in order to stabilize the grid frequency.

Entelios AG is the first marketer in Germany to qualify for SEAL. Since July, two Alzchem carbide furnaces with a total output of 50 MW have been successfully marketed. The systems can be switched off at short notice in the event of grid fluctuations and quickly switched back on again.
